新发现的一颗彗星已亮到双筒望远镜可见，成为北天一个令人感兴趣的观测目标。
照片是上周拍的斯万彗星Comet C/2006 M4，它有明亮的蓝绿色彗发和明显的彗尾。
这颗彗星是6月从SWAN公布的图片发现的。SWAN全称是Solar Wind Anisotropies（太阳风各向异性探测器），搭载在NASA和欧空局的太阳轨道卫星（SOHO）上。
这颗彗星目前亮度接近6等，预期本周会达到最亮，在黎明前的天空，离北斗七星不远。它两天前经过它的近日点，本月底将过近地点。它的运行轨迹象个双曲线，意味着它远离时可能到达恒星际空间，再也不回来。
